Abstract
Currently, the negative impact of the health crisis related to the COVID-19 pandemic has caused various effects on the economic and social order. In the case of the José Antonio Echeverría Technological University of Havana, it has been necessary to make curricular adaptations in the Engineering and Architecture careers, modify and accelerate the actions for the preparation of teachers and students, and implement changes in the didactic conception to virtualize the process of teaching-learning and implement distance education through the integration of information and communication technologies in training processes. The study was based on a descriptive qualitative methodology, in which the proposal was modeled, based on the guidelines of the Ministry of Higher Education and international organizations, as well as good practices and the results previously achieved by the university and other institutions. from the country. The objective of the work is to assess the actions implemented for the development of distance education in la Technological University of Havana in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. The short-term results reveal the progress and difficulties encountered and corroborate the possibility of expanding the experience in the medium and long term.
