Abstract

Information and Communications Technologies have significantly transformed the educational process, achieving a significant impact on the roles of teachers and students. The inclusion of these technologies in education has established paradigms in the ways of teaching and learning; teachers must now design strategies that contribute to students' educational process and consolidate innovative and productive teaching. The way knowledge is provided is changing; and it is a reality that the implementation and use of artificial intelligence in higher education impacts this change. These peculiarities constitute the problem that contextualizes the work presented. This research is the result of a research project and has the general objective of raising the quality of the training process in the Civil Engineering program by creating teaching media that contribute to the preparation of students in a context dominated by Information and Communications Technologies. During the development of the research, a diagnostic study was conducted within the program through the application of specially designed tools. These tools allowed us to determine the needs for developing teaching aids for different subjects in the curriculum. All the aids developed enhance the teaching-learning process and the motivation of Civil Engineering students through the implementation of artificial intelligence, which constitutes the main contribution of the project.
