Abstract
Contemporary society, that is, the framework within which humanity and all its activities unfold, has ceased to be an industrial society and has become a post-industrial one, where the essential factor for progress is scientific knowledge and its communication. For this reason, universities, as one of the main centers for the production of new knowledge, have the duty and obligation to disseminate and share this new knowledge. Hence, it is necessary to improve the management of their institutional communication, based on strengthening the communication of science and the research results obtained by their community. This paper aims to share best practices applied at the University of Pinar del Río regarding the transformations made to the institution's Science Communication Strategy and the adoption of the Open Science paradigm.
